The 48th Session of the Committee on Information (COI) will take place from 27 April to 8 May 2026 at UN Headquarters in New York. The Committee on Information deals with questions relating to public information.
Opening of the session by the Chair of the Committee. Adoption of the agenda and programme of work - The provisional agenda has been prepared on the basis of consultations among the members of the Bureau of the Committee. Admission of new members - The Committee will consider requests for membership in the Committee. Statement by the Chair - The Chair will address the Committee at its opening meeting. Statement by the Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications - The Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications will address the Committee at its opening meeting to provide an update on the activities of the Department of Global Communications and to report on the implementation of the recommendations contained in General Assembly resolutions 80/84 A and B. The Committee on Information is a subsidiary body of the General Assembly, established by the General Assembly to deal with questions relating to public information. The Committee on Information is responsible for overseeing the work of the Department of Global Communications and for providing it with guidance on policies, programmes and activities of the Department.
