Good afternoon. The Security Council convened today, 5th of August, 2026, to discuss the humanitarian situation in Sudan. The members of the Security Council expressed deep concern at the humanitarian situation in the country. They called for the protection of civilians and urged all parties to comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law. They underlined the importance of continued and sustained humanitarian support and the facilitation of humanitarian access to all populations in need, in line with the humanitarian principles of independence, impartiality, neutrality, and humanity. The members of the Security Council reaffirmed their commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity of the Sudan. I thank you.
