The Technical Workshop on the Global Implementation Initiative on Sand and Dust Storms (GI-SDS) will bring together affected countries, scientists, development partners, UN entities, donors and other stakeholders to build a shared understanding of the Initiative's vision and source-focused approach.
Through discussions around its four pillars, participants will identify priority actions, partnerships and investment needs for the first implementation phase (2026-2030). The workshop will develop technical recommendations to guide implementation, resource mobilization and partnerships, while informing discussions at UNCCD COP17.
