Youth Mobilization Segment - Third Committee, General Assembly, 81st session

Everyone, we'll get started now. Please take a seat.

Good afternoon, everyone. Excellencies, colleagues, friends, welcome back and welcome to the youth mobilization segment convened by the Major Group for Children and Youth. My name is Daniel and together with my co-moderator, Maria Teresa Pereira, I have the pleasure of guiding this first segment on means of implementation and partnerships. Let me introduce a little bit more about myself. I am the global coordinator of a global movement known as March for Our Planet, fighting for justice, peace, and a new economic framework. We are a global south led and marginalized people's led movement across the globe that is fighting for the change in economy, the abatement of climate change, and addressing the triple environmental crisis, addressing poverty in all sectors of development within the 2030 agenda and beyond. Colleagues, our world is in a crisis. We are leaving people behind. We are at a crossroads towards a future of peace and the future we cannot have. Financial reform in the United Nations and the world is critical. We need a new economy, a nonviolent economy, an economy that works for all and all generations to come for the next seven and beyond generations. Indigenous communities are protecting their livelihood as corporations across the world are destroying forests and habitats. Displacement of people across the world due to deteriorating livelihoods from climate impact and unsustainable consumption of resources is destroying vulnerable communities. International financial architecture is a lifeblood to sustainable development. We must do better. This afternoon, the question is, what actually works?

So this segment is not about why youth-led action matters. I think that case has been made in the morning. It is about how to resource it, how to sustain it, and how to scale it. We have three guiding questions to anchor us. First, what has worked at national and local levels to deliver real results for young people in their communities, and what can others learn from it? Second, what concrete examples can we share of financing capacity building, the harnessing of lived experience and partnerships, including intergenerational partnerships that have made youth led action possible? And third, the one I would ask everyone in this room to sit with, what reforms are needed to make funding and support genuinely accessible and to accelerate the provision of means of implementation to those in the front lines? To open the conversation, we are joined by three speakers who approach these questions from very different places. To my right, I have Maria Angela Parra Lencour, joining us from the Financing for Sustainable Development Office at UN DESA. Jolya Matia, youth advocate from MGCY, and Dan Diaz, founder of Seed for Calm. With that, let me invite our first speaker, Miss Paralancu, the floor is yours.

Thank you so much. It is really a pleasure to be here. I really appreciated the introduction. I think without you, the UN will lose the energy. So I'm so glad that you're here and that you work with us. So I wanted today to talk a little bit maybe about the third question. about means of implementation and start by kind of explaining what we have done and with the caveat of saying that everything can be improved. The situation may change and in the future we may have much more ambitious agreements that we may have, but what we achieved last year in Sevilla, I think is a good, good space to continue the work. So Basically, I work on the Financing for Development Office at the UN. Financing has always been an integral part of the multilateral development agenda. The Financing for Development process at the UN was really born out of discussions about resources and enabling environment that was needed back then to achieve the Millennium Development Goals in the 2000s. The 2030 agenda went further by making the means of implementation an explicit part of the sustainable development goals. From the MDGs, we talked about partnerships, and now we are talking about means of implementations. Since the first conference in Monterrey in 2002, FFD and the UN has always been much broader than development assistance. or the ODA, or simply finding more money for the MDGs and the SDGs. The agenda spans for several areas that touch the lives of everyone every day. We cover the issues surrounding private business and finance, international cooperation that I just mentioned, but also other ways to get resources in a country. So we work on trade issues. And talking about changing the economic system, trade is also a space in which you should think about how we can change many things there. We have science, technology, and innovation. We have the global economy rules, which we call systemic issues. And we have obviously one issue that is very, very important right now because we are in a very bad situation and it's external debt. We have been working then for more than 25 years on these issues. And you may be familiar also with the pact of the future that the Secretary General did to, in their own words, to turbocharge the implementation of the agenda. By 2024, I would say even before the pandemic, it was clear that many things in the agenda would not be achieved by 2030. It was an aspirational agenda, but it also had specific targets. And so the UN has been working for many years now to make it work, to advance as much as we can, to not just give up because it's impossible, because that's not something that we do. And I'm sure you don't like to do that either. So the pact can be really a commitment to really more resources for development with a very strong call for reforming the international financial architecture. So addressing questions like, what's with not having enough voice for developing countries in global economic governance? What can we do with very low access to long-term finance and at very, very high costs also? What happened with the sovereign debt architecture, which is basically if a country cannot pay external debt, is there any system that can help them to go through the moment that they will decide, I cannot pay because I need to pay this, but they need to to restructure. They need to see how it's feasible to go back to the plans that made them in the first place to get external debt. So we had the immense experience of organizing the Financing for Development Conference, the fourth international conference on-- Sevilla last year. And I know some of you were there. And what we achieved in that conference, it's that we added detail and we also, in a way, in a very strange world, operationalized the commitments that had been done in the pact and also many others that were done before in previous agreements on FfD. So you can talk about three steps, catalyze investment at scale. address the debt and development crisis, because really right now, many countries just cannot pay their service. They cannot pay health or education, others because they have the debt service. Like it's an impossible situation. And also reform the international financial architecture, including giving more voice for developing countries at the IMF, at the World Bank. So It was really a key moment for multilateralism. Right now, I mean, the last years have been a little bit difficult to kind of say what's going to happen next. But last year was particularly complicated. Nobody knew exactly if there could be an agreement, if there were so many things around it. But we reached an agreement. It's basically a renewed framework for financing for development. It has lots and lots, lots, lots, lots of very concrete actions that can be taken at the national level, at the regional level, that need to be accompanied from the global level. It is not aspirational text. It's a text that is agreed by all member states and really puts them in the process to work towards certain things that are very important. And we have been already advancing a lot on these issues. We had the meetings that we organized. We have the first meeting that we ever had with the credit rating agencies. We basically give a score to countries, and from that score depends how expensive is their debt. We had discussions on financial integrity. illicit financial flows, et cetera. We are working very, very strongly for this. And we really need your support in many ways. One unique thing of this process that we did last year was that we needed the voices from everyone and the solutions from everyone that was thinking of these issues. So our office decided to open the space to contributions from civil society, at large. We had a first elements paper in which civil society was invited and youth were invited to provide inputs. The idea was not to have another, what they call it, the UN agreed language, but really think about solutions and out-of-the-box, which was really important. And this process of integrating more and more the voices of people that are on the ground is continuing. So we are really systematizing a way of engaging with youth and a way of engaging also what's happening at the national level. We have now these national focal points at the national level in the governments that in a way, at some point, they may also interact with the national discussions on these issues. And we need you to keep asking questions, to keep bringing solutions, and to work with us very, very strongly to keep the momentum going. As I said, Seville may not be the perfect agreement, but it was the agreement that was possible, and it was much more than any of us who worked on this thought possible. So I really invite you to look into that as a basis and all the little policies and big policies that can be brought from there. I don't know if I extended my time, but thank you so much.

Thank you.

Thank you very much, Angela. Our next speaker and panelist is Dan Diaz. Dan Diaz is the founder of SEED4COM, Sustainable Energy and Enterprise for Communities. It was founded in the Philippines in 2014, and its mission empowers rural, poverty-stricken, last-mile communities through clean energy, environmental protection, public education, and rural entrepreneurship. Dan.

Thank you, Dan. Yes, good afternoon, everyone. So coming in from the Philippines, and I was also fortunate to participate in the Seville conference in Spain. What the Philippines have been doing right now in terms of first is access to finance. The government has a Department of Trade and Industry wherein they have a budget for young people ages 18 to 35. They call it a youth enterprise fund. Around 16 million US dollars can be accessed by young people 18 to 30 years old. There's no collateral as long as they have a legal entity. So it's an opportunity for startups that can have access to funds from the government with 1% interest. And second is in the school systems we have in the in the Department of Science and Technology as well as DTI, Department of Trade and Industry in partnership with Department of Communication and Technology. They created what we call technology base incubation. Uh we're in students, the communities can pilot their ideas into this technical innovation business center. And this facilitates ideation to start your own business. And for me also, I was lucky that I was part of the ILO start your own business, improve your own business, and green business trainer. We always capacitate young people, inclusions, even women. It's so hard to engage with person with disability as a group because they're so complex. But what I realize is addressing one special person that is capable of doing business is more easier than doing collectively, especially in the person with disability. sphere. So it's good to, for me, in my realization also, it's good to look at person with disabilities that has potential in the academe. So creation of support academic to for them to do to to formal as well as getting their skills. In the Philippines we have technical vocational skills that you don't have to go to a four year degree course. It could be like what we have been developing with our organization. We partner with a accredited technical vocational school where two months, they learn the knowledge and skills in partnership with, with the, the company and, and then they have, uh, 10 months on the job. So they will have that experience. So just let me know if I'm still on time. So I will just cut. And then, and then second is, How are we addressing in terms of partnerships, even though US aid is not anymore stopped in the Philippines, but EU, thanks to the EU fund, we got partnerships in terms of providing access to CSO, civil society, like 100,000 US dollars and 40,000 US dollars for startup innovation to address circularity. It's a a fund from Green Economy Partnership, 60 million U.S. dollars grant from from 2023 to 2028 addressing green jobs, circular economy. So young people in the civil society or in the startup can apply for a particular municipality in the Philippines. So opportunities for access is not any more difficult and they they do have a a specific office that promotes access to to funding or grants and there's a lot of cooperatives also and there are young students that I know in my city. They created cooperatives for young people for savings and access to startups. And lastly we also capacitate in terms of the training you know. Skills training. Then the Department of Trade and Industry, they created what we call Negocio Center, like a hub in each municipality where you can easily apply to start your business and then provide you with the services. So the idea here is we want to create more jobs, but we have to make accessible for young people to start job, to start a business, because locally, local business can create jobs and can create taxes for the economy. So those are the things that I could just share on our experience in the Philippines and the strong also voluntarism and calling for support from the companies. through CSR, corporate social responsibility. Now they're moving in through the ESG, environment, social governance. So it's good also to look at how these companies, especially international companies, are doing ESG reporting. And we can partner with them for finance and inclusions to help our grassroots, especially in the island, because Philippines is like, just like Indonesia, we are archipelagic, as well as there are remote last mile that no access to electricity. So our organization has been, after the typhoon Yolanda Haiyan in 2013, there was no power. So we start with renewable energy through volunteer from different country. helping to install. And then we realized that in those islands, it's polluted. Plastics are all over. So we came up with Environment Day to clean up one day. We call it National Cleanup Day. And then we found out that to alleviate poverty, we need to invest in education and at the same time help their parents, farmers and fisher folks in the enterprise. So that's why we have SEED4E, the four E's are energy, environment, education, enterprise for these communities. and anchored to the SDG that was in 2014, we founded, and 2016 is the start of the SDG. So it has sustainable development, enterprise, and energy. So thank you.

Thank you, Dan. We can, and at this moment, we're right now in 2026, we're not too far from the 2030 deadline of the 17 SDG goals with sustent with financing for development being the 17th goal and so we can see that from Dan Diaz's work with seed for com that that this is an example of communities on the ground that really can through deliver through through action and through through projects and part of that as as Dan has has pointed out is the funding that that is there and so as we're in climate crisis and and more the acceleration through financial architecture, which we need to modify, is extremely important. And the communities on the ground have the ability. We just need to get the right way and the right speed to many of our communities across the world and NGOs. And so thank you, Dan. And next, we will introduce our final panelist, Julia Matya. Julia Matya is a young professional from Nepal. She served as the administrator for the major group for children and youth in the past. And in addition, she's also a director of Sustainable Fish Farming Initiative, a social enterprise that creates sustainable livelihoods for women by providing training, microloans, and required assistance to develop cooperatives, positively impacting families in rural Nepal, and so much more. Julia, we hand next over to you to share more.

Thank you so much, Daniel. Thank you, co-moderators, distinguished panelists, for your important contribution. And I want to also thank the Third Committee and the Major Group of Children and Youth for convening this important dialogue today. Touching based on what our panelists contributed, I think that when we talk about means of implementation, I think we should begin with a practical question. What does it take for global commitments to translate into tangible improvements in people's lives, particularly for young people? The catastrophic recent floods and landslides swept away through northern Nepal, and they show what is at stake right now. The urgency is real. Lives were lost, families were displaced, and homes and livelihoods were swept away. Education disrupted, public institutions and social protection systems came under immense strain. And as a citizen of Nepal, I speak of these consequences not as abstractions, but as lived realities of the frontline affected communities. And these impacts that I just talked about are never evenly distributed. For a young person, this kind of a shock can alter the course for life, whether they can return to school, whether education is resumed, rebuild their family's livelihood, or whether they could access essential support in time can shape their future long after the crisis has passed. And this is where implementation is really tested, in the distance between what we commit to and what people can actually count on. And closing that distance is how institutions earn and sustain public trust. And financing is one of the clearest tests who can access it on what terms and how quickly. And when rebuilding, reconstruction and recovery strains investments in education and health and social protection, the consequences are intergenerational. A climate-vulnerable country should not have to finance the same development twice, first to build it and then to rebuild it after repeated shocks from a crisis it did so little to create or cause. Like our panelists mentioned, the severe commitment, it does provide an important foundation, but delivering on it requires reform, meaningful reform of multilateral development banks and financing mechanisms to make finance accessible, predictable, affordable, and responsive to vulnerability. That means in practice, simplifying access, expanding concessional and shock responsive support, and strengthening countries' capacities to put resources to work. But financing reforms alone cannot guarantee implementation. Countries, especially vulnerable countries, need strong national and local institutions that can plan, coordinate, and sustain results. Development cooperation should strengthen those systems under national ownership and not bypass them. But institutional capacity also depends on whose knowledge inform these decisions. Lived experiences, local realities, they are just not testimonies, they are implementation intelligence. And young people contribute through crisis response, through advocacy, through research, through local data collection, monitoring, and yet too often lack of resources to shape solutions. And I want to reiterate that consultation is not partnership. So what should member states, development financing institutions, UN agencies and civil society do differently? I'd like to emphasize on three priorities that we've already talked about. First, reform how development finance is delivered. Make it accessible, affordable and responsive to vulnerability, supporting national and local priorities without creating unsustainable debt burdens. Second, strengthen national and local institutional capacity, invest in long-term capacity building, development and nationally owned systems that sustain results. Third, institutionalized and resource meaningful youth participation, establish sustained intergenerational partnerships with resources and meaningful opportunities for young people to influence policy design, decision making, implementation, monitoring and accountability. Lastly, across all these points that we just talked about, Accountability must ask who was reached, who was left behind, and what actually changed. And for the third committee, commitments to human rights, social protection, inclusion, and opportunity must be matched by the means to deliver them. Our institutions may divide these issues by mandate, but people do not experience them in isolation. For a young person, education, livelihoods, protection are not separate policy agendas. They experience one life, and the future of multilateralism depends on whether our institutions can work together across these mandates and turn our collective commitments into real and meaningful improvements in people's lives. Thank you.

Thank you, Jolie, and thank you to all of the speakers for highlighting mechanisms that exist, real solutions, and also the fragility of financial institutions in response to crisis. We now have an interactive discussion. So if you're in this room, you can and should share your thoughts. Please have our guiding questions in mind, also the interventions of the speakers. You can request the floor by pressing the speaking button under the microphone. And to our speakers, you're open to reply to any of the floor interventions. We want to hear from all of you. If you have a model of what worked, tell us about it. If you have a funding mechanism that failed young people, you can share that too. The point of today is to be honest about both. You'll have a maximum of three minutes per intervention. And to start, I'll give the floor to a distinguished representative of Romania. It's seat 55.

Excellencies, fellow youth delegates and civil society representatives, in the role of Romania's UN youth delegates, we have the responsibility of bringing the perspective and experiences of young people from Romania into the multilateral space. And at the same time, I come from the youth and civil society sector, working with JAKE, a Romanian youth organization with ECOSOC consultative status, where I lead our work on sustainability and youth participation. And I mention both perspectives because for me, they are deeply connected. And I would like to share one example from our work. Through our youth-led initiative, Thirsty for Solutions, young people came together around a practical issue that we still have in Romania, which is access to free public drinking water in the context of increasing heat and climate pressures. and what began as a local concern became also a broader process of youth participation and advocacy through a seven-month fellowship and advocacy boot camp and engagement with European institutions young people from different communities of Romania developed the skills and confidence to actually advocate for issues affecting their communities and doing so they engage hundreds of young people and work with local authorities bringing public drinking water access into the broader institutional discussions and this actually contributed to an increased attention to drinking water infrastructure, especially also water station at Bucharest airports. And besides this outcome itself, I think the most important lessons was what happened when we actually gave young people the opportunity to move from, okay, identifying a problem to actually participating in developing of a solution and co-creating one. And at the same time, we also saw some barriers that still remain, which are limited access to decision makers, short on funding and insufficient mechanism to follow up with recommendations. So from our experience, meaningful youth participation requires a continuity from consultation to actually implementation, monitoring and also accountability. So maybe we can learn a bit from that for the future as well. Thank you.

Thank you, distinguished colleague of Romania. Next, we have distinguished colleague from Project to Decolonize Coffee, seat 106.

Thank you, Chair. My name is Luis Mojica Perez. I am with Project to Decolonize Coffee. This segment asks, what has worked at the last mile? Our answer from rural Colombia is simple. Pay the farmer and the farmer stays. Project to Decolonize Coffee partners with more than 65 farms in Cordoba and Caldas, Colombia, with more joining, supporting families moving from illicit crops to specialty coffee. Four things made the difference. The first, price. We pay prosperity prices, not market minimums, because a family will not leave coca for a crop that cannot feed them. Second, finance farmers. can actually use. Our micro loans carry zero interest. Smallholders need capital for infrastructure, equipment, and their first harvest, and conventional credit either does not reach them or costs more than the harvest earnings. Third, dignity at work. We formalize labor contracts so the people who pick the process coffee have rights and a stable income, not just seasonable cash. Fourth, the basics. Right now in Tierra Alta Cordova, we are helping 40 families replace water hoses more than 40, sorry, more than 20 years old, lines that serve both their homes and their farms. No pricing model works if a family cannot count on water. The lesson others can draw, alternative development works when it changes who keeps the value, not only which crop is in the ground. And it works when it starts from what families say they need, not from what a funder has already decided to provide. These principles can be adapted wherever small hold holders grow crops for distant markets from cocoa to tea. From cacao to tea. What is missing is not ideas. It is financing that reaches the last mile on reforms. Most financing work for this work is designed for large institutions. Youth led groups at the last mile face application systems, reporting requirements and minimum grant sizes they cannot meet. I ask member states and UN entities, including colleagues working on financing for development here today, to create small, flexible funding windows for youth-led rural development and to measure success by farmer income, not only by hectares eradicated. I hope these recommendations find a place in the position paper. We already know what works in the field. The challenge?

We will now hear from a distinguished representative from the European Union, seat 140.

Distinguished delegates. My name is Lauren and I am a European Union youth delegate. As young people, we are so often told we are the future by the very decision makers who fail to prepare us for it. Multilateralism is a two-way street, but what happens when young people aren't even given a map? Despite making up 100% of our future population, young people are consistently underrepresented in voter turnout, in political institutions and in decision-making roles. This is no coincidence when quality citizenship education remains an afterthought or non-existent across and beyond Europe. To put youth and communities at the centre of global governance, citizenship education cannot be a luxury. It is how we build stronger democratic societies and restore trust in multilateral processes. And it must not be taught only theoretically. It must be practised, shaped and led by young people themselves. Life-changing global commitments are made within institutions like this one, but they begin in a classroom built on tolerance, collaboration, and respectful disagreement. Trust in multilateralism is not inevitable. It's a conscious decision made every day to turn up and to believe in collective action. But you have to see it to believe it, and today, far too many young people do not see it. That is why citizenship education cannot be a one-off lesson. It must be the foundation of everything that happens in school. When students are active players, they don't just read about multilateralism, they live it. And that lived experience is the strongest precursor to a lifetime of civic engagement. Thank you.

Thank you. Distinguished delegate from European Union. We now call on the distinguished delegate from Williams Hope Alive Foundation, seat 94.

Distinguished moderator, esteemed delegates, and fellow youth representatives, thank you for this opportunity. My name is Olayton, a doctoral researcher at Delaware State University, a historically black university in the United States. and I'm also the vice president of Williams Hope Alive Foundation, a humanitarian organization registered in Nigeria. I would like to raise an important issue concerning access to funding for grassroots youth organizations. Many small organizations in developing countries like Nigeria are working to address poverty, educational inequality, and youth unemployment. However, one major challenge is that accessing international funding often requires an established funding history, extensive institutional capacity, and partnerships that smaller organizations are still trying to build. How can emerging organizations build a track record if they are constantly excluded from the opportunities needed to establish one? I believe we need more accessible small grant programs, mentorship from established organizations, and partnership between universities private institutions, and grassroots initiatives. For example, HBCUs like Delaware State University in the United States could become valuable partners in supporting research, innovations, skills development, and capacity building initiatives with youth organizations in Africa. Final question to the panel is, what practical mechanism can international institutions establish to ensure that smaller, credible grassroots organizations can access funding and partnership without being disadvantaged by their limited institutional history. Thank you.

Thank you. We'll now hear from a distinguished representative of Italy, seat 75.

Thank you, Chair. I have the honor to participate in this session as the youth delegate of Italy to the United Nations. Earlier this year, we carried out a national survey with young people across Italy. One message came through louder than any other: peace. Not as an abstract ideal, but as the precondition for everything the Third Committee works on. And there was also another message that we heard clearly. Young people still believe in multilateralism. They are not disengaged. They want to be heard. And most importantly, they want to be part of the solution. So what does that require? First, coherence. Young people do not experience social development in silos. Work, education, health, and participation are deeply interconnected in everyday life. Too often, youth engagement is welcomed only on a very few selected topics considered youth issues. But young people have a stake in much more than that. We have perspectives to bring to discussions on peace and security, technology, human rights, and many other areas. Second, mechanisms that last. Consultations and side events are valuable, but they cannot be the end of conversation. We need clear and meaningful channels to contribute throughout the entire policy cycle, from negotiation to implementation to follow up and review. We believe that investing in these areas is not only a matter of inclusion, but also an opportunity to strengthen the legitimacy of multilateral institutions. Young people are ready to be partners. We only ask that the door stay open. Thank you.

Thank you, distinguished representative from Italy. We now call on the distinguished representative of NISNIVIC, seat 37.

Thank you, moderator, and good afternoon to the distinguished delegates and fellow participants and the representatives of civil society. My professional background is in developmental psychology, education, and autism services. I am here today elated to see these youth advocating for themselves, the things that they believe matter, and to make the future of our world a better place. But I can't help but wonder, where is the representation of the youth that cannot advocate for themselves? I want to bring your attention to an important dimension of accessibility that has not been addressed today. the participation of young people with developmental disabilities, particularly those with complex communication needs. When we discuss youth-led initiatives and accessible funding, we must recognize that some young people encounter barriers long before they can participate in these opportunities. I would encourage us to consider funding mechanisms that support accessible communication, meaningful participation in decision-making, and stronger partnerships with community-based and disability-led organizations. Importantly, we must also evaluate whether these investments produce meaningful outcomes for the young people that they intend to serve. My question is, could accessibility requirements and the participation of young people with disabilities become explicit criteria within funding and partnership frameworks, rather than considerations introduced after programs have already been designed. Thank you.

Thank you. We'll now hear from a distinguished representative of the Zonza Foundation, seat 53.

Dear delegate, When we talk about the future of multilateralism, we talk about countries working together. But we must ask, whose voice are being left out? Indigenous and marginalized community are missing from decision that shape our future. This is especially true in AI. Indigenous and African languages make up less than 1% of AI data. And this is just not acceptable. This is why my team and I, mostly young people, are collecting those data directly from those community. I will give a small example. We usually go into those community, collect languages, songs, stories, and we're building a data set for those languages. The decision we make today will shape our future. We must include indigenous languages in AI and make sure it reflects the world as it is today, diverse. And every language carry a human history. Every community has knowledge to share. And we need to make sure no languages, no voice are left behind. Thank you.

Thank you, distinguished delegate from Azanza Foundation. We would now like to invite the distinguished representative from Spring Valley Farm, seat 82.

VCY and fellow youth for building the space for discussion, learning, and change. I'm a public university student studying human rights and biomedical engineering with future aspirations to be a physician, and I reside and work at a student farm where I practice values of social justice and sustainable agriculture. My interests may seem disjointed, but like many fellow youth, I enjoy and seek out opportunities for an interdisciplinary education and experiences that build upon the interrelated nature of the sustainable development goals. Working on a student run farm to me means growing an understanding of my community and its needs and being a practitioner of SDGs 2, 3, 12 and more. However, opportunities like this often rely on geographic and funding tied to local and national political agendas that are unfortunately ever changing. So with the changing administrations come changing landscapes and funding cuts for us to participate and the integral grassroots social justice work that we care about. My question is, if the landscape for youth participation relies heavily on SDGs, why is it so uncertain? In other words, enabling jobs and educational opportunities to explore the SDGs should be constant, independent of leadership changes or instability. We as youth are actively seeking the opportunities to become the human rights practitioners who can build the SDGs into reality. But I hope we can recognize that it requires all member states to fund these commitments because of long-term commitments to the future rather than the short-term changing agendas. Thank you.

Thank you. I now have a distinguished representative of Athletes United for Peace, I believe. Seat 50.

Thank you, moderator. Excellencies, youth delegates, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Leo Liu, and I'm honored to represent Athletes United for Peace, an NGO with consultative status with the United Nations Social and Economic Council. In 1945, the United Nations brought hope of peace to a world devastated by the Second World War, offering nations a platform to restore humanity. in 1980s our organization has used sport to bridge cultural differences transcend International barriers and bring people from all walks of life together for decades our organization has used sport to to bridge cultural differences and in 2026 as a youth delegate I stand on the shoulders of those who believed in that that sport could be a powerful force for achieving peace speaking from the perspective as a young person I believe Our world needs another San Francisco moment. Our world needs a renewed commitment to ideals that brought nations together in 1945. But in our society today, in order to turn those ideals into reality, we must begin at the grassroots level. The Pact for the Future calls on us to invest in accessible, safe, inclusive, equitable, quality education for all, including physical education and sport. At Athletes United for Peace, we work to turn this commitment into action. In Kampala, Uganda, we are strategic partners with the Refugee Basketball Academy, founded by Congolese refugee youth leader and also United Nations Youth Office, Young Leaders for the SDGs, Stephane Kulimushi. Through basketball, young refugees find a sense of belonging, rebuild confidence, and most importantly, heal together through their shared experiences of displacement. In El Paso, Texas, our annual Basketball and Barrio initiative brings children from Segundo Barrio and Chamizal neighborhoods together to develop leadership, literacy, and basketball skills while celebrating their shared border culture. These initiatives remind us that peace is not built only through resolutions adopted in conference rooms. We need to build more UN spaces at the country level. Peace can be built on basketball courts, in classrooms, and within communities. If we want to inspire a new generation to believe in the United Nations and its mission, we must make peace something young people can experience, not merely something that they hear about on social media and television. Thank you.

Thank you, distinguished representative from Athletes United for Peace. We now call on the distinguished representative of International Association for Youth and Students for Peace, seat 109.

Thank you, moderator, distinguished delegates. I speak on behalf of the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace and the Global Youth Caucus on SDG 16, convened by MGCY. Coming from Nepal, where labor migration is closely connected to livelihood and development, I want to raise a question about intergenerational justice. Throughout this discussion, we have spoken about preparing young people for the future, equipping us with the skills, encouraging innovation and building resilience. But when did resilience became an expectation placed on young people rather than a quality institution should no longer have to demand simply for people to live with dignity. When decent work is unavailable, young people are expected to adapt or migrate. When migration exposes them to exploitation, they are expected to endure. When institutions fail to hear them, they are expected to find new ways to make themselves heard. We celebrate their ability to overcome these obstacles, but do we question why those obstacles persist? Young migrants and displaced youth are not merely people to protect or problems to manage. They can also be negotiators, mediators, and decision makers shaping their own futures. Through the Global Youth Caucus on SDG 16, convened by MDCY and the Migration Youth and Children Platform, we are developing a toolkit that challenges how young people are labeled and calls on mediators and policymakers to reflect and act differently. As we look beyond 2030, perhaps our measures of progress should not be how resilient young people have become. but how much less resilience they are forced to need simply to live with dignity. Thank you.

Thank you. We have time for one or two additional interventions. So if you're thinking about intervening and you want to request the floor, please do. But we will now hear from a distinguished representative from the AFS Intercultural Program, seat 121. Thank you.

Thank you. I speak on behalf of the AFS Intercultural Programs. SDG 4.7 asks that every learner gain the knowledge and skills to promote sustainable development, human rights, peace, and global citizenship. this target will not be met in classrooms alone. Young people learn global citizenship by living it, by meeting people different from themselves, working across borders, and seeing how decisions made their effects their communities. That is why bringing the UN closer to young people matters. When young people from many countries come together to work on SDGs, they leave understanding how the multilateral system works and how to act on it at home. We see this every year through the youth assemblies we help convene, and we see it in the young people who return to lead in their communities. We have to ask from member states, first, make global citizenship education part of national education and youth agendas. Second, recognize learning that takes place abroad so that time spent studying in another country strengthens a young person's path instead of setting it back. AFS is ready to help deliver these commitments with its presence in more than 55 countries. We stand ready to work with member states and the UN to turn SDG 4.7 into real learning for young people. Thank you.

Thank you, distinguished representative of AFS Intercultural Program. We now call on the distinguished representative of Young Women's Policy, seat 108. Young women's policy, seat 108.

Thank you, Chair and distinguished delegates.

My name is Solongo Batujav.

I'm from Mongolia, and I want to introduce some things, and I want to ask a question for you guys. As a young professional As a young professional, I believe the young people shouldn't only be seen future leaders, but also like we recognize as active partners in addressing today's global challenge. So in increasingly in interconnected world and meaningful youth participation is essential. So to strengthen multi literarism and building a more inclusive future.

My question is.

How can the United Nations and its member states ensure that young people, and particularly those from developing countries like.

Asian countries and Middle Eastern.

Geographically remote countries have a meaningful voice in global decision and making and that perspective translate into concrete policy actions. And I would also emphasize that inclusion like must go beyond giving young people as I said at the table. It must ensure that our voices are heard our ideas are valid and our contributions lead to the real change we believe. Thank you.

Thank you. We'll have some closing remarks, so maybe you can answer if you want to. Then we now have some more interventions, so I would ask that you keep them short. one, one and a half minutes. We will now hear from a distinguished speaker from the evening school seat 48. Thank you.

Thank you, moderator, for giving me the floor. Fellow delegates, I'd like to request your attention to this painting not very far, just outside this conference room. The name of the painting is the Unseen Afghanistan. In that painting, we can see that school children are following this teacher with a blackboard. In that painting, right on the right corner, there's a girl who is eagerly reading. Unfortunately, today, that picture could be not further from reality as girls education in Afghanistan is banned beyond sixth grade. Maybe that girl is why our project is here and why we are working. My name is Arunav Chakraborty, and I speak on behalf of the Evening School, which is a youth-led project spreading education in conflict-affected zones, including Afghanistan. So today, our request is pretty simple. It's to, like, we want to ensure and want to support that every girl in Afghanistan must be able to go to school. The ban on girls' education violates their rights, And it is exactly the kind of issue this committee exists to address. As the segment goes, which is the means of implementation partnership, we believe that very confident partnership with local schools, like schools, the shadow schools that are offering alternative education for girls in Afghanistan, must be supported in different channels. And that's what our organization takes as approach. We partner with different shadow schools in Afghanistan, where we give them science education, particularly computer science. And slowly, we are seeing that impact, where we can see that many girls are more than willing to take those classes. We have teachers not only from Bangladesh, but also from other nations. So we would like to address this committee today that please put diplomatic pressure on the Taliban government in every bilateral and multinational setting. and to ensure girls' education is a priority in every engagement. A ban can close a school, but it can never close a mind. Thank you so much.

Thank you, distinguished delegate from the Evening School. We now call on the distinguished delegate of Empowered Immigrants, seat 44.

All right, can you guys hear me? I think we can. Thank you so much for the opportunity to be here. Really do appreciate it. My name is Nadirah Fatou Kenzie. I was born and raised in Benin Republic before I immigrated here with my family at 16 years old. So as we all came here from different region, from different background to make our voices heard. Many youth immigrants, especially women, struggle to feel like they belong, even if worthy to be in this room. A lot of them are struggling with that internal confidence, especially immigrants and first-generation students that do carry cultural, financial, and emotional barriers that most school program was never built for. So as the founder of the Empowered Immigrants, my mission and my team mission is focused on creating coaching programs, mentorships, and speaking events tailored to immigrants and first-generation youth, especially the young woman, addressing the unique cultural, financial, and emotional challenges they face when navigating new systems. Our vision is to build a global community where immigrant women feel supported, informed, guided, and empowered to succeed no matter where they are in their journey. So my team and I are currently working with the School District of Philadelphia to provide students with free group mentorships, career readiness, youth leadership programs, and social-emotional wellness supports. However, having relocated myself, I experienced firsthand how relocation can definitely impact your confidence, your identity, and your mental well-being as well. And I'm very passionate about advocating for structure support system to empower youth immigrant to succeed. This week alone, we were able to get a report from the School District of Philadelphia, which shows a high priority for youth leadership, especially for immigrant women. And I do believe that immigrant women are here not just to survive, but we are here to heal, to build, and to lead as well, and change things for the next generation. So my question today is that, would there be any structure built inside of the school system to help the youth immigrants. So, Sid, thank you.

Thank you. We will now hear from the Arab Union for AI and Programming, seat 91. Again, a reminder to keep it short, please. Thank you.

Today, in my capacity as first vice president of the Arab Union for Artificial Intelligence and Programming, I represent the Arab Union, an organization whose vital mission is to spread the sciences of artificial intelligence and programming across all Arab countries, to empower our youth, and to foster global cooperation with all nations. Today, I want to talk about our most precious resource, water, and how AI is securing it. Water security is a reality for our Arab region, but we are turning this challenge into a fact through AI. First, in smart irrigation, AI is ending the area of wasteful farming through sensors, drones, and machines learning. We now deliver the exact amount of water a plant needs at the exact time it needs when we need it. And here I want to give you a living model of success, the city of Alayoun in the Moroccan Sahara. A few years ago, Al Ayun was seen as a desert city with limited agricultural potential. Today, it has become a leading model for development and innovation. In Al Ayun, thanks to the vision of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, vast agriculture projects are now managed by AI-powered drip irrigation systems. This intelligent system analyzes soil salinity, desert climate data, and satellite images to irrigate crops like tomatoes, melons, and fodder with minimal water. We have seen water saving of over 40% and a huge increase of agriculture yield. What was once desert is now green, productive, and sustainable. Al Ayun provides the that with AI, the desert can feed its people. Second, in drainage and water resource, AI powered system is in and other cities managing agriculture, drainage, training, wastewater, and using safety and immigration, creating a water economy. Excellencies, this is the future We're the building with the Arab Union, artificial intelligence and programming. We have trained over Arab youth, many of Arab youth. We are connecting Arab universities with global tech. Al-Ayun is one of the examples of successful examples. Thank you so much for listening to us.

Thank you. Thank you, delegate from Arab Union for AI and programming. We now call on the distinguished delegate of global governance and diplomacy, seat 49.

Can you press the button on your mic? Seat 49.

Thank you, moderators, excellencies, colleagues, and fellow youth advocates.

My name is Russell Kalman. I study law and politics at NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

Today, however, I am speaking on behalf of the Global Governance and Diplomacy Alliance, or the GGDA. This organization is dedicated to uniting the future leaders of the world under a banner and a set of ideals, those being, modernity, intellectual interrogation, and pragmatism. We're incredibly honored to have connected 177 students across seven different universities across the UK. Through this endeavor, the GGDA is exposing students to unique, layered perspectives on the issues that confound our world. Our organisation has also taken numerous steps to confront local issues, such as phone theft. Did you know that every six minutes a phone is stolen in London? The GGDA constantly appeals to Parliament and local authorities to address this, taking an active stance in making urban streets safer. See, those these societal hurdles may feel insurmountable. Coalitions of us can make a difference. We have the will. That has been proven. Now we simply require proportional means. Students, especially in this age of political, social, and economic destabilization, should have every possible opportunity to participate in domestic and global politics. These complex problems plaguing our world need fresh, unjaded eyes, and that's precisely why we're petitioning the UN. An open forum where students from across the world can come to speak about modern affairs and plan events among like-minded people would be a spectacular step towards a more mobilized world and greater civic participation.

Thank you.

Thank you so much. Thank you for everyone who intervened. We are about to finish the segment. We would just like to hear some parting thoughts from each of our speakers. So in just one minute, what do you want to leave the room with? Maria Angela, would you like to go?

Thank you so much. I just want to congratulate each and every one of you for taking the time and the effort and I'm sure with a lot of commitment and sacrifice to be here and to do this every day, to the work every day that brought you to be here. I really congratulate you. I really say again, we need you. Continue. One of the initiatives that really, really caught my attention because that's work that I lead is the issue about coffee, this idea in Colombia of bringing the prosperity prices, as the person mentioned. is very important in the discussions that we're having these days about how to add value added on primary products. And I'm really, really happy to hear that. But again, everybody, thank you for your work and keep going. Thank you.

Thank you. Dan.

Yes. Speaking of coffee, in the Philippines, we also have initiative, one of our good friend is founder for the Coffee for Peace. where they look at gender equity in the transaction or paying people. Mostly 80% are women. So in each segment of the value chain, they are also being paid, not equally, but of which, for example, just picking, it has a certain value, then processing, you know. That's also one that they are incorporating that I'd like to share. With regards to also our friend, the person with disability, aside from that, we have to take a look at the early childhood development. In our country, we have been battered with so many calamities, and we capacitate person with disability that they should not be left behind, but they are part of the governance in terms of inclusions. And the Philippines is one of the chair for the loss and damage with regards to climate finance. So it's not just like Nepal, Philippines were asking for grants because of calamity. It's really a climate justice. And at the same time, the call for finance for development, the young people for a country that is vulnerable, country that has been impacted with corruption, red tape, I mean, they should not be able, they could not able to pay those debts. So there's a call right now for freedom from debts, especially in countries like developed countries, and they are not the cause for those many deaths, right? And also for the indigenous community, I love the importance of restoring language. In the Philippines, we have school for living tradition. It's is a way that they there's a certain school. They still teach their own reading, their culture and integrate with the formal school. So I'm happy that it is brought back into this. And then also we promote regenerative and agroforestry in our partnership with farmers. It's not that they plant. of vegetables, but they also help in taking care of the biodiversity. And lastly, there's a lot of things to say, but one of the important thing that I'd like to look at is the youth, although I'm not anymore youth, we have a youth organization, a serving organization. Youth can lead. You can do it together with partnerships. And since we are all founders of different organization, we can host any countries that visit our country and have this specific skill sets and particular possible partnerships. And I think that's possible even without UN high level discussions. Right now we can do something. You can make it happen. Thank you.

Thank you, Dan. And in our closing, as the moderators, We would like to put a few positions that Major Group for Children and Youth has on international financial architecture reform. One is launch an intergovernmental process towards a UN convention on sovereign debt and a convention on international development cooperation. Another is to accelerate reforms to strengthen the voice representation and decision making authority of global south countries within the governance structures of the IMF and World Bank, building on existing quota and governance reform discussions. Third, the UN High Level Expert Group on Beyond GDP mandated under Key Action 53A produced the Counting What Counts. The report represents an important milestone, however, it falls short on outlining an adoption, application, and institutional uptake of Beyond GDP metrics across the UN system and within the policy frameworks of the IMF and World Bank. The intergovernmental process launched under 53 B. There should therefore should prioritize agreements on governance, institutionalization, implementation of these metrics, including through a General Assembly resolution with clear directions to the MDBs rather than focusing on methodological refinement. And finally, we should We recommend to integrate the progress made on the UN framework convention on international tax cooperation and the borrowers platform to ensure coherence with broader IFA reforms pathways, strengthen these measures through inter-entity coordination, such as UNCTAD, DESA, and regional commissions to capacity developing countries in enhancing inter-ministerial coordination to operationalize comprehensive debt resolution. by in multilateral trade negotiations, as well as strengthening judicial and policy architecture to curb illicit financial flows, among other measures.

So thank you so much, everyone. Thank you so much to the organizers. Thank you to our distinguished speakers and everyone that intervened on the floor. We had calls for action, we had great examples being shared, and we had a reminder that consultation is not partnership. So to go beyond just tokenized youth participation, we hope this was inspiring. You certainly inspired us. So thank you all so much and we'll move on to the second segment. Thank you. Could we get a picture? Could someone come take a picture?

Okay, good afternoon. Good afternoon. Good afternoon. Let us return to our seats and start the second segment so we can start our weekend very soon. Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for staying with us, for those who are in the room. My name is John Costa. I am the global focal point of the SDG 16 Global Youth Caucus of the Major Group for Children and Youth. I'm also the director of UN relations at the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace, a youth-led organization in special consultative status with ECOSOC. Today, young people in this room have raised many priorities, education, decent work, mental health, inclusion. This segment asks a harder question. Which of these do we truly share and what we will do about them together? I come to this conversation personally from two places, one on SDG 16, and that is the goal on peace, justice and strong institutions. And the other is education, which is at the heart of our work at IAYSP. Both have taught me the same thing. Social development and peace are not separate agendas. They depend on each other. We've heard that a number of times today as to how the work of the various committees are interlinked. And so we're here in the third committee to stress that point, in addition to many. Both depend on trust. Young people need to trust that institutions will listen. They need to trust that promises will be kept. And they need to trust that taking part of this and many lead somewhere. Trust is not only built through policy, it is also learned. Young people learn it when they practice dialogue with people who disagree with them. They learn it by questioning what they read online, and they learn it when they see their ideas become real projects in their communities. And that is what education does. It helps young people move from taking part to taking the lead. The Youth Peace and Security Agenda says the same. Last December marked ten years since the Security Council Resolution 2250. It calls for quality education for peace, and it names partnerships as one of its pillars. Ten years on, the question is not whether young people should be partners. It is whether those partnerships come with shared responsibility. In April, MGCY, our SDG16 caucus, and IOISP convened a global youth consultation on youth, peace, and security. More than 230 young people from 38 countries took part. They told us that money is the single greatest barrier. Much of this work still runs on young people's unpaid time. And they told us something else. Youth presence is not the same as youth power, decision-making. More seats do not always mean more influence. So here's one way to think about this afternoon and this last segment through our three guiding questions. First, shared priorities. Which priorities need stronger collective action and what is holding us back? Often the problem is not the list, it is working side by side without working together. And second, accountability. Young people are consulted more than ever. Far fewer see what happens to their input. How do we build partnerships where every side is held to what is promised? And lastly, momentum. How do we carry what we agree today into the ECOSOC reform, the HLPF, that is the High-Level Political Forum on the SDGs, and especially the SDG Summit next year? Our two speakers will help us open these questions. We have Moya Zagadani and Hanna Misnyankiewicz. Then we will open the floor for the rest of and most of our time. We'll have plenty of time for intervention, so do press the button. You can press so already now so that someone can come along and take your name on a piece of paper and the seat number can be recorded. Let us begin. Our first panelist, Moyad, is one of Libya's first official youth delegates to the UN General Assembly. He has seven years of experience in communications, in humanitarian settings, and crisis response. Moyad, you have seen communities hold together when institutions were under great pressure. From your experience, which shared priority most needs collective action, and what is holding back? What is your reflection? The floor is yours.

Thank you, John, and good afternoon, everybody. I'm honored to join you today here as a youth delegate of Libya. This is the first time Libya since official youth delegates to the General Assembly and it's something that we are proud of. I would like to start with the personal story that I lived. I grew up in Libya. I was born, raised in Libya and I lived through the most difficult years Libya have faced before. It's like the last 14 years. Our institutions were under great pressure but what kept us going forward as like a Libyan community is that the connection among Libyans among the community itself and young people supporting one another neighbors checking on neighbors and young volunteers organized initiatives on their own solidarity was what we could always count on Later, my work in the humanitarian communication and crisis response took me across Libya, Mozambique, and Yemen, where I told the stories of displaced people, and they all taught me the same lesson. Young people have a right to peace and a right to development. These two rights go together, hand in hand. When one is missing, the other become very hard to reach and achieve. This brings me to the first question on shared priorities. For us in Libya, peace and development are one priority. A young person needs to feel safe in order to plan for good quality, education, and work, and needs a clear future in order to feel truly safe. This is why the right to development, long championed by the global south, matters so much in our generation. So what is slowing progress? One challenge is fragmentation, with many actors working in parallel. But there is a deeper challenge as well, and we should be honest about it. Too often, youth participation is symbolic. Young people are invited to the room and into a group photo, but not into the decision itself. Consultation only becomes meaningful when it changes something. In Libya, we are working to change this, and we are fortunate in one important respect. Libya has a dedicated Minister of Youth and Ministry of Youth, and currently he is the youngest Minister of Youth ever in Libya. It means that young people, his concerns, have a permanent home inside the government itself, with a clear mandate, sufficient budget, and a voice where national decisions are made. The ministry is leading the development of a national youth peace and security document, inspired by the Security Council Resolution 2250, but it does not work alone. The document is being shaped through the voices and the wide engagement with youth activists and youth-led organizations at the grassroots levels and through workshops with young people across the country. It is built on seven pillars. including women's security, youth initiatives, cybersecurity, and climate and security. Equally important, we are bringing the national security institutions into the process, including the Ministry of Defense, Justice, and Interior. Peace needs everyone at the table, but also young people are an essential part of this table. Moreover, This document will support Libya's National Youth Strategy 2026-2031, which follows the same approach, led by the Ministry of Youth as well, and built with young people on the ground. Together, they will lead to a youth coalition that turns the needs of young Libyans into real initiatives. One second question. Accountability means closing the loop. When young people share their ideas, they should hear back about what happened to them, what was taken up and what was not, and why. That's the difference between being consulted and being heard. Finally, on keeping the momentum, I suggest three practical steps. First, carry today's message or messages into the Youth Position Paper and then to the ECOSOC Youth Forum, the HLP and the SDG Summit. Second, make Youth Delegate Program permanent in every country. Third, invest in local youth organizations, especially in countries recovering from conflict. They are usually the first to respond so they deserve to be among the first receiving the support. To conclude, the years we lived through in Libya were very painful, but young Libyans held on to each other and kept moving forward. It wasn't easy at all, but they made it. Today, life is returning to Libya. We are working for change. One that lasts for our generation and those to come. Thank you so much.

Thank you, Moyad. We are very happy to have you here as Libya's first official youth delegate to the General Assembly. You spoke about tokenism, about young people being invited into the photograph, but not into the decision. And you showed us how Libya is moving towards meaningful participation through a Ministry of Youth and the National Youth Peace and Security document built with young people across the country. Our next speaker is Hana Misniewska from Poland. Hanna first came to General Assembly as a UN youth delegate in 2024, and then she went home and built a national youth coalition on YPS. So, Hanna, young people are consulted more than ever. We've established that, but many never see what happens to their input. In Poland, you're working to a national action plan on YPS. How can a plan like that turn youth input into something governments can be held to? And what are your other reflections to many of what was shared today? Over to you, Hanna.

Thank you so much, John, and good afternoon, colleagues, dear delegates. I should probably start with thanking everyone for staying with us on Friday past 4:00 PM. And also my sincere congratulations to Libya. This is a huge achievement to have you delegate program. So I'm really, really happy to hear that. I come from Poland, a Central Eastern Europe country, which became a frontline state after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. And I know there is already so much wisdom around this room, so I may not say anything that is new to you, but I hope I can give some other perspective that will also inspire you and highlight the systematic approach that also Moyad was mentioning before. So while Ukrainians are bravely defending all Europe on the battlefield, my country, Poland, has welcomed a million refugees. And those are mostly women, children, elderly people who are fleeing this horrendous war. But yet they continue to thrive. They study full time in Poland. They speak fluent Polish. They open new businesses and have been helping actually our economy to grow by 2.4% GDP. This was measured by UNHCR and Deloitte report recently. However, despite all of this data that is very clear on the positive contribution to social development, benefiting both Ukrainians and Polish communities, this armed conflict is not only taking place in the battlefield. Since the beginning, there has been a series of hybrid operations launched towards the frontline states, such as Poland, that are meant to create this negative sentiment towards Ukrainian refugees. And they are meant truly to polarize the society with this fear and sense of division, and thus decrease the support for Ukraine, which is the very right for a just and social development of every person displaced by war away from their countries. So Polish society is constantly targeted with disinformation in public media, in public spaces, and this growing fear, you know, covered attacks and fake news about dividing the community. So I'm telling you that because there is something very important about this notion. There is a fundamentally important concept that social development is about conflict prevention, and really, conflict prevention is about social development. Everything that we discuss here during the third committee sessions, from education, from mental health, to inclusion, which communities displaced by an armed conflict have rights to, those are the essential components allowing countries to maintain stability and prevent future internal conflict among the communities. And this is precisely why the Firdt Committee's youth and refugee work should speak to the resolution established by the UN Security Council, the Youth Peace Security Agenda. So as John mentioned, I came here in 2024 as youth delegate and heard about this resolution 2250 from a few countries. So by nature, the YPS agenda brings together very different environments that work on a systematic level. And I saw it as this ideal accountability mechanism and came back to Poland to start it. So when we started that, we weren't entirely sure whether such an abstract concept of young people being architects of security and peace, would this be really something that our colleagues back in Poland would want to support or the government would want to support. But guess what? In one year, we built real multi-stakeholder coalition with 15 organizations that represent over 250 young people across the country, four ministries, experts and think tanks. And that really gave us a sense of urgency and of the need of this youth and peace security work in our countries. And the daily work of member organizations who are part of our coalition is simply incredible and touches every aspect of social development. Those are organizations who are working, advising parliaments on affordable housing policies through high level events on security, on human rights advocacy. There is not a single topic which those bright, capable, full of hope young people would not act upon. So how we turn that energy into something systematic? This is where the National Action Plan came into place. So We were really inspired by the YPS leader of Finland, as well as by the African Union systematic level work, and started to lay these foundations for Poland's first national action plan. Why does it really make sense? First of all, the process of establishing the national action plan itself is bringing people together, listening, and giving them a say in policy making. And this is precisely what building trust in institution means. To give you an example. We were on the National Congress for Municipal Youth Councils. We sit down with a group of young people and engage with them on the discussion of YPS. And one participant told us, "Well, until we met you, I was sure that United Nations was just men in black suits running in New York. And now I want to join this initiative as volunteer because I can relate to it." So there is an important lesson coming from here that trust starts with people when people can relate. And trust starts when people are given a say. Secondly, national action plans allow you to do that, to do something rare, which is this whole of society, whole of government approach. Where we bring multilateral, multi-stakeholder actors to one place, we can create tangible timeline and goals to take action on. And finally, Welcoming solutions from the bottom up is a strategic, long-term investment in better policies. If Poland will be able to implement a national action plan for YPS, we can become, A, more resilient towards the hybrid warfare, we can work on solutions connecting refugee and host communities, and we can track and monitor the progress also within the parliament or other recurrent spaces. So we may not be able to see the immediate results, but conflict prevention starts long before the war breaks. So the message I would carry from here on to the next forums, to the UN agencies and to the member states and policymakers is be smart about working with young people, bring them into policymaking, come to the dozens of extraordinary young leaders that are present in this room and they're leading their own way. and don't be the reason why they succeeded despite of, but be the reason they succeeded with. Thank you very much.

Thank you, Hanna. You reminded us that social development is conflict prevention and conflict prevention is social development. You also showed us what this looks like in practice. In one year, young people in Poland built a coalition with youth organizations and ministries working towards a national plan with a timeline, a budget and a way to report back. Both of our speakers have given us a very similar message from two very different countries. Meaningful participation needs a permanent home inside the government, and it needs a way to close the loop. Hana left us with a challenge. Don't be what young people succeed despite, be the ones they succeed with. With that, I now open the floor. Let us begin with our first question, which shared priorities need stronger collective action and what is holding them back? Or any of the questions we've brought up today, this evening. When you take the floor, please tell us not only what should change, I would like to also invite you to tell us one thing you or your organization will do moving forward. Again, as the previous segment, please keep your interventions to three minutes, and let us now transition to the dialogue. Okay. To begin with, I now hand the floor to the distinguished guest from Amana Foundation, seat number 112.

Thank you, moderator, excellencies, and fellow participants. For five years, the exclusion of Afghan girls from education has been repeatedly raised at the United Nations. Yet the restrictions remain. According to UNICEF, more than 2.6 million Afghan girls have been denied secondary education since 2021. I am Sumayya Qattali, education lead at Amana Foundation, a youth-led nonprofit founded by young Afghan women, expanding access to education, leadership development, and meaningful opportunities. Today, I want to emphasize that this is not only a crisis of Afghan women's rights. Its long-term consequences may extend beyond Afghanistan, threatening regional stability and international peace and security. And addressing a challenge of this magnitude requires more than the effort of individual organizations. It requires coordinated international action.

I now.

And invite my colleague, Somaya Aswadi, to continue.

Thank you very much.

Distinguished moderators, I am Somaya Aswadi, representing Amana Foundation, where our educational and leadership initiative have engaged more than 3,000 young people in just one year. Through our work, we have witnessed the determination of young people, particularly Afghan women and girls, who continue to pursue education despite the barriers placed before them. But our experience has taught us an important lesson. Youth lead organization cannot overcome years of systematic exclusions on your own. Meaningful and lasting change requires a stronger institution support, sustained investment and collective actions. For Afghan women and girls, access to learning is only the beginning. Without recognized qualification and opportunities to continue their education, their potential remains limited by barriers beyond their control. This is why we call on the United Nation to facilitate a coordinated partnership among member states, universities, educational institution, and youth lead organization to establish internationally recognized digital education pathways for African women and girls. And we must measure progress not only by how we learn opportunities we create, but how many women gain recognized qualification. Thank you.

Thank you to the representatives from Amana Foundation. Next, I hand the floor to the distinguished guest of ATAA, seat number 53.

Thank you, Chair. And I'd like to thank MGCUY for co-convening this. Much has been said today about young people and education. What I want to speak about here is what happens after. What happens after when a graduate goes online to look for work and the job advertisement is a trap. That is exactly how one of the fastest growing forms of human trafficking begins. According to IOM, victims from more than 80 countries many with university degrees, recruited through fake job offers on social media and moved across borders into online scam compounds. Their passports are confiscated and they are forced to defraud strangers on the other side of the world. Those who refuse face beatings, confinement, and as the UN Human Rights Office has documented, sexual violence. This is trafficking, cybercrime, and youth at once. And no single state can prosecute it alone. Recruited in one country, held in a second, defrauding in a third, and laundered through a fourth. The UN Convention against Cybercrime opened for a signature this year, and it remains open until the end of this one. What is missing is a decision about who the victim is. Member states can settle that. A person forced to commit fraud under a threat of violence is a victim of trafficking, not a criminal. They need to be protected and brought home, never charged. And member states can act where the trap is set, on the platforms where the job offers appear, and young job seekers warned before they apply. If the future of multilateralism is to mean anything, young to young people. The systems built to protect us must move as fast as the system built to exploit us. Thank you very much.

Thank you, representative. Next, I would like to invite the representative from Save the Earth from A to Z, seat number 63.

Can you hear me?

Okay, thank you.

Thank you, distinguished delegates and fellow youth representatives. My name is Rachel Fraser, and I'm here representing A2Z, Save the Earth from A to Z, a global university student volunteer organization committed to creating positive change through collective action and community engagement. At A2Z, we believe that social development, environmental sustainability, and the protection of human rights are deeply interconnected. Sustainable development requires more than commitments on paper. It requires meaningful collaboration and concrete action at the community level, as has been thoughtfully highlighted throughout today's discussion. Young people are too often invited to be part of the photograph, but not necessarily part of the decision making process. I appreciate that this challenge has already been acknowledged and would like to build upon that conversation by emphasizing the importance of translating youth participation into measurable impact. Through a says, we strive to put this principle into practice. In addition to our environmental and community service initiatives, we are advancing a digital human rights campaign that seeks to raise awareness about the importance of protecting human dignity and respecting human rights in an increasingly interconnected digital world. This is particularly relevant to young people who are not only among the most active participants in digital spaces, but are also directly affected by the decisions shaping their future. We believe that youth-led initiatives like these demonstrate that young people are not simply asking to be included in conversations. We are already taking action to address these challenges facing our communities. My question to the distinguished participants is this. Beyond creating opportunities for youth to be heard, what concrete mechanisms can member states and the United Nations establish to support youth led initiatives, particularly in emerging areas such as digital human rights, and ensure that their contributions are meaningfully integrated into policymaking and social development strategies leading up to the EcoSoc Youth Forum 2027 and beyond? Ada says, "We believe that young people are not simply the leaders of tomorrow, we are partners in building solutions today." Thank you.

Thank you to the representative from Save the Earth from A to Z. I'm Canadian, so I say Z with a Z. Next, I would like to invite the distinguished representative from Verdes, seat number 051.

Thank you, distinguished delegates. I speak here today on behalf of Verdes Aid and our friends and colleagues from around the world. I wanted to take the opportunity to speak to you today about the importance of our institutions to find ways to empower young people from positions where speaking up is simply not a priority and work directly with young people through shared partnerships as opposed to just creating another consultation board. My past work in Ukraine, volunteering and working with charities such as TASH, Ukraine, the Hopeful Trust and the Living Pearl Orphanage in Ivano-Frankivsk, led by the incredible Ruslan Markiv, has taught me that more and more young people feel alone and isolated in tackling the challenges of today and feel uneasy about the effectiveness of our institutions. Young people who worry about their personal immediate future and surviving conflicts, having a roof over their heads or access to education. The youth that are genuinely affected by our decisions made in this place, their voices should be front and center. Our organization's recent trip to Cultiv'Y in a co-funding and school project facility under Verdis, Working with Humanitarian Foundation, the IPPDR, ONG Vision, I saw firsthand how young people can work together in facilitating development projects on an international scale. I believe that young people, for young people to truly become stakeholders, institutions must seek to not deliver projects on behalf of young people, but directly implement direct partnerships in organizations and initiatives where young people are directly at the helm. This is what my organization seeks to do, building direct connections to young people with their communities, seeking partnerships and projects run by young people. In a world where one in five children are escaping or living in active conflict areas, It has never been more important to give voices to young people from different security environments, making them aware of support and issues that are available. To all young people with ideas, regardless of where you come from, their personal stories need to be told, implemented, and opinions shared. An institution must find ways to empower this via direct partnerships by young people for young people. Thank you.

Thank you very much. I now hand the floor to the distinguished guest from Project to Decolonize Coffee, seat number 106.

Thank you, Chair. Thank you, Chair. Luis Mojica Perez again with Project to Decolonize Coffee. Allow me to first to congratulate Moyad Ramadan Alim, one of Libya's first youth delegates to the General Assembly. It is exactly the kind of step that puts young people at the table where decisions are made. Congratulations. On the first question, one shared priority that needs far stronger collective action is dignified livelihoods for young people in rural areas. Across the world, young people are leaving the countryside, and where the legal economy fails them, some turn to illicit ones. What is preventing progress is fragmentation. Drug policy, rural development, and decent work are negotiated in separate rooms, and no one is accountable for the whole picture, the farmers' lives every day. On the second question, accountability and partnerships, let us measure what matters, not only hectares eradicated, but whether incomes rose and whether young people chose to stay, and partnerships when each actor brings what it does best. In Tierra Alta, Cordoba, we built La Casa de la Caficultura, the first community coffee training center in the region where young people from coca growing communities learn to make legal living from coffee. It is a permanent infrastructure, not a project cycle. So the knowledge stays even when the funding moves on. We built in We built it with the community. The next step is to build hubs like it with member states, UN entities, and buyers at the same table. And lastly, on the third question, momentum, I propose three steps. First, MGCY's position paper name, decent work and economic inclusion for young people as a shared priority, including for those in rural and conflict areas and conflicted affected areas. Third, that member states invest in community-based training hubs like this one and bring that evidence to the SDG summit. Youth organizations are ready to share our data and our lessons. What we need are partners willing to share the table. Thank you.

Thank you very much. I now hand the floor to the distinguished guest from Global Governance and Diplomacy, seat number 058.

Thank you, moderator, representatives, and friends. I've been spoken on behalf of a lot of organization, and today I want to take more general perspectives on youth and myself. 81 years ago, UN was founded on the premise that will bring lasting peace and prosperity to the world. Today, we see a world with instability, war, poverty, and with an under-delivered SDG goals, with our young people becoming more afraid of the future. The UN's way of operation that established 81 years ago might be no longer compatible with today's new challenge, AI, climate change, and inter-member state conflict. There either needs to be fundamental reforms, not simply just focusing on logistics like many of the UN 80 reforms. Or maybe we need a new international order to be recreated that actually can deliver UN's mission, like what we move from League of Nation to United Nation today. This new version of the UN must have the ability to intervene. The UN must hold its member states to be accountable to this UN Charter. If we keep turning a blind eye, this Charter will just be a piece of paper. The UN must be accountable to we the people, stated at the beginning of the Charter. We need to break through the non-transparent, closed mechanism. I'm thinking about considering a parliamentary assembly, a more civic engagement path within the UN. Ironically today, we see that those people who didn't have the ECOSOC status cannot intervene in the morning session. That is a clear evidence of the non-transparency and the closed mechanism within this institution. The UN must avoid tokenism, but bring real impact. Repeating the phrase, meaningful engagement of youth, does not make it meaningful. Publish your response to our recommendations. Tell us what will change, who is responsible, and when. But I'm faithful. Together, we can see our humanity progress, both economically, politically, culturally, and scientifically, especially having our young people on our side. We young people's pursuit is a world of equality, a sea of stars, Wang Jianxin Xin Xin Zhi Huo Kei Liao Yuan. Thank you.

Thank you. I now hand the floor to the distinguished guest from Spring Valley Farms, seat number 082.

Thank you for the opportunity once again. I will be pretty quick about this, but I was thinking about question three, how can we sustain momentum for future forums? And I thought I had is the youth led position papers are very important. But as a youth delegate brought up earlier today, many of us are asking the question, does the UN do? And we're told that our position papers are reviewed by member states and policymakers, but oftentimes we're unsure if the impact of our voices from those are eventually lost. My suggestion is just as we open floors for consultation, to open floors for young people to collaborate on on measuring and publishing that impact right in the halls of events like this. It doesn't have to be formal internships or volunteer positions. It could even just be a QR code that we scan to form an interest group where we come back a year later and analyze what has happened since the last paper. What should we celebrate and what do we need to continue to advocate for? And maybe I'm completely unaware that this exists already, but if so, I think it would be interesting to have more awareness of opportunities like that. And one more thing I wanted to add is it really resonated with me earlier today when somebody brought up how civil society organizations are critical for translating policy stances because they're familiar with whether their communities are being impacted. And I wanted to add that youth researchers in a similar way are also trying to understand if their communities are being impacted by these policies. So partnering with student researchers from all sorts of disciplines, whether it's science or public health, human rights, they're doing research on these things and directly speaking with community members. I think they're an awesome resource to partner with and it also supports them in their important work. Thank you.

Thank you. Next, I now invite the distinguished guest from SCG Youth Connect, seat number 046.

Distinguished delegates and fellow youth. My name is Rafal Ammari. I'm from Saudi Arabia and currently pursuing my master in public health at NYU with a particular interest in the well-being and protection of vulnerable populations. So I would like to bring a public health perspective to this discussions. When we talk about collective actions and social development, I think one challenge we need to address is the gap between global commitment and the realities people face within their own communities. Safety is not limited to protection from physical harm. It also includes psychological safety, dignity, access to support, and the conditions that allow people to live healthy and fulfilling lives. However, access to support is not only about whether services exist. Social norms, stigma, fear, and lack of trust can prevent people from seeking help, even when those services are available. And this is where I believe communities themselves have an important role to play. Rather than designing solutions for communities, we should be designing solutions with them, including young people and those with lived experiences. This is particularly important because an intervention that works in one community may not necessarily work in another. So my recommendation is to strengthen community-based participatory approaches in social development programs so that communities, especially young people, are involved in defining priorities, designing intervention and evaluation, what actually works in their context. Because young people bring unique energy, patience, and creativity, fresh perspectives to these efforts. However, these qualities can only translate into meaningful actions. We young people are trusted, supported and given genuine opportunities to lead. Thank you.

Thank you. I like to invite next the distinguished guests from I don't know how to say this name. Enzona Foundation, seat number 050.

Dear delegate, artificial intelligence is changing our world rapidly, but not everyone have the chance to be part of it. Millions of young people in the global south lack access to AI education, digital tools, and AI training. not because the lack of talent, but because they lack opportunities and resource. We need to push on AI cooperation to facilitate access for all. They must invest in affordable digital infrastructure, practical training, and AI education in local language. Let us make sure we have an AI that is inclusive for all, where people, young and old, can connect with AI in their own language. Let us make sure that the next generation is not only prepared for AI-driven world, but empowered to help build it. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I would also like to invite, if there are any additional interventions, to please do see the person coming around. We are coming to the end. Next, I would like to invite the distinguished guest from ANO, seat number 034.

Thank you, moderator, for the floor.

Namaste, delegates and fellow youths.

My name is Vivek Porel.

I'm representing Nepali Youth's Voice. Last month, our prime minister spoke about the climate crisis here at the UN General Assembly.

It was the most worst speech of the session.

But we don't just want views, we want justice.

And justice means those who did least to cause the climate crisis must not face it alone. On 26 August, floods hit Nepal.

The government of Nepal says 1,455 people died, more than 5,200 are missing, 7,500 homes are gone.

The World Bank says the damage is $1.66 billion.

Nepal caused almost none of this crisis, but we are paying for it.

That is not fair. That is climate injustice.

So I ask for three things. First, Developed countries must deliver climate finance, not just promises, to help vulnerable nations rebuild and prepare for future disasters.

Second, multilateral institutions and technology holders must share their tools, early warning systems, satellite data, prediction models, with climate-vulnerable countries before the next disaster comes.

Third, to my fellow youths.

Please keep raising your voices for climate justice and hold your government accountable for every promises made in this room.

As this forum comes to a close, let our promises not close with it. Thank you.

Thank you. very much. Next, I would like to hand the floor to the distinguished guest from Lang Gann Engineering, seat number 078.

Thank you, co-moderators, distinguished panelists, delegates, and my dear friends. My name is Sunil Gimmire. I am a geospatial engineer from Nepal, and my career has crossed the humanitarian, the nonprofit, and private sectors in the last 10 years. I want to name one shared priority that every stakeholder here depends on, that is knowing who is being left behind and where. I mean, the location is the main thing as well. So I have trained many young people from developing countries to map land and resource rights using their ordinary smartphones. Millions of families still have no record of land that they depend on. And Nepal's flood on 26 August also showed us that trained people and local data must be in place before disaster strikes, right? So what is preventing the progress here? Fragmentation, governments, agencies and NGOs each collect their own data for their own project. When the grant ends, the data disappears and communities rarely sees it all. So first, let's talk about the accountability. commitments on an open map. If a school, a clinic, or a land title is promised, communities and young people should be able to see and verify whether it was delivered. Second, partnership with the clear roles. Member states provide multi-year funding and policy. UN entities set common standards. The private sector shares tools and skills. Young people and communities collect and verify the data as complementers, not just the participants. Third, momentum. Let Let us bring youth-collected, community-verified data to the ECOSOC Youth Forum in 2027 and into voluntary national reviews at SLPF. Then, by the SDG Summit, progress will be measured on the ground, not just on the paper. As AI enters this work, young people in LDCs and SIDs, including young persons with disabilities, must be trained to use it, and their data must be protected from misuse. Shared priorities need a shared map, so let us build it together. Thank you and namaste.

Thank you. Next, I would like to invite the distinguished guest from Educate Young Girls, seat number 108.

Hi, thank you so much for the opportunity. My name is Glory and I'm the founder of Educate Young Girls, which is a grassroots nonprofit working in Cameroon and Nigeria. From the perspective of a grassroots and youth-led organization, it seems like we are told oftentimes that our experience is not enough. We have promised to funding that never leads to anything, and we see a huge structural exclusion of youth organization. When we take a look at funding, we oftentimes find international funders saying things like you need at least three years of experience, years of financial statements. And though that is beautiful, it is truly just a structural barrier that prevents young organizations that are trying their best for their community to attain the financing that they really need to do the work. The second thing is just this promise of funding that never leads to anything that puts a lot of pressure on civil organizations and youth organization. Because when you are a 22 year old founder with 5000, 10,000 girls to help put in school. How do you do that without the finances? It drives us nuts. And I think that is something that should be considered both at the international level and also at the national level. The third thing I wanted to bring is 2030 is coming very soon. And at this time, it feels really clear that the SDGs goals that we had will not be met. The next summit for SDG is coming in 2022. 2027. What are we currently doing to ensure that the voices of young people that are leading grassroots movements in non-developed countries are at the table and that they are taken into consideration when we think about the future of SDG after 2030, but also as we think of the whole idea of development as a whole. The whole idea of global commitments are beautiful, but as a youth leading a grassroots organization, I think it is really time to make sure the global commitments we take reach the communities we are trying to impact and trying to develop. Thank you.

Thank you. I now hand the floor to distinguished guests from Boi Toin Hua, seat number 148.

Thank you.

Thank you, moderators, distinguished delegates and fellow participants for this important discussion.

I'd like to share a perspective.

On capacity building from my experience leading Putum Hua, a youth-led arts and cultural organization. One thing I've learned through leading a youth organization is that young people often have the ideas, motivation, and willingness to create meaningful change. However, having the passion to lead and having the institutional capacity to implement those ideas are two very different things.

As a.

As an organization, we've worked to.

Develop cultural and educational programming, build partnerships, and create opportunities for youth from different backgrounds to engage with one another through this experience. We've seen how important institutional support, mentorship, access to resources and opportunities for collaboration are in turning ideas into sustainable initiatives. I also believe that capacity building should not simply mean providing young people with technical skills or training. It should mean recognizing young people as partners in decision making and giving them their resources, autonomy and institutional access necessary to lead, and importantly, we need to recognize that access to these opportunities is not equal. Young people outside established institutions, particularly those from marginalized or underserved communities, often face even greater barriers to funding, networks, and institutional support. As we discuss the means of implementation, I hope we can consider how governments, UN entities, educational institutions, and civil society can make these resources more accessible to youth-led initiatives at the local and community levels.

Thank you.

Okay, this concludes the list of interventions I have. Thank you all for sharing your perspectives, questions, statements. Needless to say, it is crucial and inspiring to hear. Before we end this segment and the day ahead, I would like to invite my panelists for any reflections they would like to give, helping me close this segment. I first turn to Hana for any of her reflections.

Thank you very much to everyone. It was really interesting, inspiring, sometimes a bit sad, but also hopeful to hear from every one of you. I was thinking many of those challenges reflect actually the five pillars the pillars of YPS agenda, which is the protection. We've heard a lot about protecting young people from exploitation, vulnerable communities, partnerships. How do we partner with the UN, with governments, with academia, with civil society, and also about prevention, right? So for instance, technology and human rights, how do we tackle that? And there are countless challenges here, but I think if there is one thing that the agenda YPS can help us with is this national action plan. And I would really invite you to consider if there is any coalition in your country that maybe you can join and see if you can join forces, because there is power in numbers, right? So it's always easier to advocate for some crucial challenges if you join some kind of a coalition. And secondly, on the momentum, we will have a new Secretary General. quite soon, right? So I would consider that also as a very important momentum to think about what are the top priorities to push for, because it's definitely, definitely going to be a good time for some new ideas and new energy. And lastly, I wouldn't really like to end maybe with a negative note. So I'm going to say something positive, hopefully. And this is about the UN. You know, I know we could probably spend hours of criticizing what's not really working here and find a lot of challenges, but there is one thing that I always consider about being in this room. If we are in this room, it means we are already very privileged and we are responsible for bringing some of the messages and ideas we hear here in this rooms into our communities. And these rooms have one fundamental quality and power of convening. The power of convening, the power of speaking to Libyan youth delegate, to Nepal, to Poland, to like all different countries which wouldn't be really that easy when we're back in our country. So, I would really encourage everyone to to use that as this top power of convening within the UN and then bringing those hope and those ideas and knowledge back to our countries. Thank you.

Thank you, Hana, for your recommendations. I turn to Moyad for his. Over to you.

Yes. Thank you, John. Thank you, Hana, and everyone here in the room. It's a great chance to be and hear your experiences that came, I don't know, from years maybe. And I believe that every experience has a meaning and every one of us can learn from this experience and at least from my work experience in the communications and humanitarian and crisis response, I've met people in camps, people displaced and people have been through very tough times and they were living a very simple life that I have learned and I've learned a lot from their experience and their challenging everyday, like everyday challenges. We heard a clear message, I guess, our participation must turn into impact. Speakers reminded us that safety includes dignity and trust, and that communities should help design the solution. We heard that young people in the global south need fair access to AI, education, and digital tools. And we heard that a strong call for climate justice and for sharing early warnings tools with the countries most at risk. As someone who has worked on disaster response, I truly support that. As someone who have been from Libya and we have also experienced the floods in Derna cities three years ago, I truly support that as well. As I said earlier, meaningful engagement means closing the loop. I was glad to hear other speakers today. make the same call today. Tell us what was taken up, who is responsible, and by when. At the same time, this is our responsibility, and we are here in this room. As young people, we must stay resilient and keep pushing until our voice reached decision makers and changed the narrative about our generation. In Libya, we learned this in difficult years. when young people support each other. And today, we bring that, the same spirit here. Thank you so much.

Thank you. Not sure I can conclude that any better. Thank you to everyone. This morning, the Third Committee heard young people's priorities. This afternoon, we asked what we will do about them together. and Hana gave us a clear message, and all of you as well, peace and development go together. Meaningful participation needs a permanent home inside government, and accountability means closing the loop so young people hear what happened to their ideas. Let us carry today's messages into the youth position paper, the Youth Forum, the HLPF and the SDG Summit to come next year. Thank you to all our speakers, again, to everyone who took the floor, to the chair, the secretariat of the Third Committee, and to the Major Group for Children and Youth and its team for bringing us together. Thank you and good evening.
