Implementing global plan of action for the Energy Decade

The Global Plan of Action for the Decade of Sustainable Energy for All to 2030, whose implementation was called for by the UN General Assembly, sets out measures to be taken by Member States, the UN system and multistakeholder partners to accelerate progress on energy in support of achieving the 2030 Agenda and the climate objectives of the Paris Agreement. This high-level special event will bring together global leaders to share experiences and highlight strategic opportunities to implement the Plan of Action. It will also feature the official launch of the two pivotal knowledge products: Tracking SDG7: The Energy Progress Report 2026 and the SDG7 Policy Briefs in Support of the HLPF 2026. It will also launch the UN-Energy Work Programme 2026-2030, which sets out how UN-Energy members will jointly mobilize action towards achieving SDG 7.
