The 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) under the theme Restoring Land. Restoring Hope held from August 17-28, 2026, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
This ministerial will explore the links between land degradation, drought resilience, peace, security and human mobility, bringing together leaders from environment, foreign affairs, defence, interior and migration portfolios. It will examine how land restoration and sustainable natural resource management can contribute to resilience and stability, while highlighting experiences and perspectives on addressing vulnerability, displacement and fragility through integrated approaches and cross-sector cooperation.
