As per UN General Assembly resolution A/80/L.46 the UNGA High-Level Meeting on Road Safety (HLM), will take place the 20–21 July under the theme "Scaling up and accelerating implementation of commitments to halving road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030". It is a key opportunity for the global community to mobilize stronger commitments, sustainable financing, and coordinated action to address the global road safety crisis and accelerate progress toward SDG target 3.6.
Co-hosted by France, Jamaica, the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety, and the UN Regional Commissions New York Office, the Conference will serve as an important platform for multi-stakeholder commitments that reinforce and replenish the UN Road Safety Fund. It aims to mobilise USD 10.6 million to sustain and expand UNRSF interventions, enabling the Fund to drive stronger, more coordinated road safety action and impact during the second half of the Decade of Action for Road Safety.
