The primary objective of the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue is to explore how systemssolutions, such as land restoration and Nature-based Solutions (NbS), can create aframe for concrete synergies action on the ground. Moving beyond discussions on whysynergies matter, the dialogue will focus on how countries and partners can and areimplementing integrated approaches in practice.
Organized by the UNCCD G20 Global Land Initiative with the Government of Türkiye, IUCN and Enact, the technical meeting builds on the Antalya Dialogue held by Turkiye under the G20 Global Land Initiative in May 2026 and advances practical cooperation across the climate, biodiversity and land agendas. It complements the High-Level Dialogue on Rio Convention Synergies on 26 August by identifying concrete country priorities and exploring how existing expertise, programmes and finance can support their implementation.
