The High-Level Dialogue aims to build political support for a Global Implementation Initiative on Sand and Dust Storms (GI-SDS) under the UN Decade on Combating Sand and Dust Storms (2025–2034).
It will position sustainable land management, land restoration, and drought resilience as essential solutions to addressing the root causes of SDS while strengthening partnerships across governments, the UN system, and financing institutions. The dialogue seeks to generate the political momentum, partnerships, and investment needed to scale implementation and support affected countries over the next decade.
