The event focuses on recognizing Indigenous Peoples as rights holders, knowledge holders and implementation partners in addressing desertification, land degradation and drought (DLDD).
It will highlight Indigenous knowledge systems, customary governance, sustainable pastoralism and land stewardship as key contributions to ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation, drought resilience and sustainable land management, while promoting stronger partnerships, institutional collaboration and direct access to funding for Indigenous-led action.
